The 2025 Smart City Expo: Asia’s Largest Exhibition for Smart City Innovations

At the Taichung City Government Transportation Bureau, Director Yeh shared insights on the intelligent management of smart roadside parking—from equipment to payment systems—emphasizing comprehensive solutions and transparent, publicly accessible parking information. He explained how technology is utilized to effectively address parking challenges.
At the 2025 Smart City Expo, Taiwan Secom Group (TAIWAN SECOM, Stock Code: 9917) — consistently one of the largest exhibitors with the most diverse range of applications — will simultaneously showcase its most innovative AI solutions at both Taipei and Kaohsiung venues. Under the theme "Smart City All in One," the exhibition invites visitors to explore six major highlight applications in depth.

Among the highlights, the smart parking system attracted the most attention. Taiwan Secom Group not only safeguards urban security but also actively implements ESG initiatives. Frank Lin, Chairman of Taiwan Secom Group, stated that in recent years, their affiliate Gowin Parking has been dedicated to developing smart parking services that embody urban aesthetics. Aligned with government efforts to promote paperless and cashless smart city policies, they leverage AI technology and cloud integration to completely transform the traditional, time-consuming manual ticketing process. This approach not only conserves energy and reduces labor but also significantly enhances parking convenience.

Chairman Frank Lin of Taiwan Secom Group further explained the “Image Recognition Equipment System” integrated in the parking spaces, which includes high-, medium-, low-mounted, and floor-type image recognition devices. When a vehicle parks, the system automatically recognizes the license plate and uploads the information to the management platform to complete online ticketing. Before leaving, users simply scan a QR code to easily make online payments—completely paperless and cashless! The onsite display features multiple device models, including high-, medium-, low-mounted, and floor types, allowing selection based on the specific environmental needs.
