The device adopts AI-powered learning and image blurring technology, balancing accurate recognition with privacy protection. Its low-profile deployment design integrates naturally into roadside environments, reflecting a “minimalist urban aesthetic” that reduces visual impact on cityscapes.

Key features include:

  • Paperless parking management

  • Real-time payment support

  • High license plate recognition accuracy

  • Cable-free installation (battery-powered version)

  • Solar backup power

  • Multiple deployment configurations

Meanwhile, at the Taichung City Government exhibition area, the battery-powered version was showcased, highlighting flexible deployment in existing road environments and construction-limited locations, while supporting the vision of smart mobility and low-carbon cities.

Real-World Deployment & Policy Integration

At the Taiwan SECOM forum, Chou, Chih-Yuan, Director of the Taichung Parking Management Office, shared Taichung City’s parking management experience, noting that low-position imaging systems have already been deployed in roadside parking areas, with more than 9,700 parking spaces implemented to date.

The presentation highlighted a “minimalist urban aesthetic” design philosophy, replacing traditional pole-mounted equipment with low-profile roadside deployment that integrates naturally into the urban environment while minimizing visual impact.

Combined with a paperless parking management system, the solution streamlines the user experience and improves overall operational efficiency. These applications also align with the development goals of smart mobility and urban governance, demonstrating the successful real-world deployment of low-position imaging systems in city environments.

Smart Parking Application Overview

The showcased low-position imaging system is primarily designed for roadside parking management. Using image recognition technology, it detects parking occupancy in real time and transmits related data to the back-end system.

The system can also integrate with parking payment systems and urban management platforms to support:

  • Parking turnover analysis

  • Parking hotspot identification

  • Charging efficiency optimization

With both grid-powered and battery-powered versions available, the solution provides flexible deployment options for different urban environments, helping cities gradually build smarter parking management systems.

Future Development

As smart city initiatives continue to advance, parking management is evolving from traditional manual operations into data-driven intelligent systems. Trends showcased at the Smart City Expo indicate that future smart parking solutions will focus on:

  • Higher recognition accuracy

  • Lower power consumption

  • Deeper system integration with urban traffic platforms

These developments also align with national transportation policies promoting paperless, low-carbon, and high-efficiency urban parking environments. Under this trend, parking systems featuring flexible deployment and environment-integrated design are expected to expand across more urban scenarios, becoming an important part of future smart city infrastructure.
