Taichung City builds a smart city for citizens to experience a convenient digital life!
Transportation Bureau of Taichung City Government plan to install intelligent parking device in roadside parking spaces and combine it with billing operations to create an intelligent parking management mechanism. This year, image recognition technology was introduced for the first time on a trial basis in 42 parking spaces on Lingdong Road in Nantun District, and during the trial period, manual billing was maintained, while manufacturers were asked to use the image recognition device to create virtual parking tickets to compare the manual billing rate, error rate and other information, and to collect opinions from various parties. In the future, when the image recognition device is formally used for billing purposes, the "Intelligent Parking Fee Zone" signage will be installed, and the smart parking logo will be painted in the parking space, so that the public will know what it means at a glance.
Secretary of Transportation Bureau Yeh, Chao Fu said that in response to the digital society, in order to meet the needs of the public's life and to create a sustainable and livable smart city, we have installed geomagnetic devices in the on-street parking spaces of the roadway sections with high differential and progressive rates of on-street parking usage to provide real-time information about the on-street parking spaces, which has been recognized by the public. In addition to expanding the installation of geomagnetic devices, the Transportation Bureau is also testing the use of image recognition device for intelligent management. The Transportation Bureau invited the vendor to explain the functions of the device and show the backstage image of the device's operation, and the legislators were also present to express their concern and support for intelligent management.
